Greetings!

We are about to launch a new fixed price market place OwnFair.com in November. OwnFair enables users to buy and sell products for a fixed price unlike the more popular auction market place like ebay. OwnFair will be a great market place for generic products. It will also help you with an virtual online garage sale for free. At OwnFair there are no listing fee - you only pay a commission when your product is sold.

The site is currently under testing and we are planning to launch the beta site with the TechVenture conference in Tampa on Nov 16.

I would like get some suggestions on how to get the word about the site.

Regards

Vinod Vijayan

CEO

Hi,

You can reach hundreds of thousands of people at one time by posting a short notice on twitter, facebook and My Space.  And, the best part, it won’t cost you a dime.

Before your site is launched, create a homepage where a visitor sees a landing page. It should have information about your website features and an area for name and email address. Once you start to collect email id's of prospective customers, you can assess how many people are already interested in your business. Be sure to email them when the website is launched officially. And if you want more people to talk about your website, add live website support. Customers will give a positive word of mouth when they experience live communication with a customer service operator!
