Hi there, my name is Anna and I am opening up a home based business. I really need help with a business name because I am really not very creative. I am opening up a threading business (esthetics type business where you remove facial hair with a piece of thread only!!!) Can anyone help me?

Hi Anna :-)
We`ve had situations like this in the past, and the first choice to make is on how the name will reference something. You have two basic directions you can go:
  • The name directly refers to the type of business, as in "ACME Roofing & Plumbing."
  • The other is that the name has personal meaning to you, but doesn`t include a product reference, as with "APL Industries." In this case, the APL might stand for "Anna, Peter, and Linda" or something like that.
So your first decision is the overall type of name you`re thinking you`d prefer. Along those same lines is the question of personal involvement. Do you want "Anna`s Face Scraping, Inc." or do you want "United Face Scraping, LLC." :-D

In other words, do you want to personalize the business with your own name right in the title (e.g., Mary Kay, Olesen`s, Pearson Technologies).

Okay, so what`s your name? Oops...LOL!!! Um...."Hi, My name is Anna!" LOL! sorry...I`d scrolled too far down. Lemme see....

What are some words to describe facial hair removal? What pictures or images do you get in your mind, when you imagine working each day?

Are women acquainted with threading in your area?  It seems like you either know what it is or you don`t.  90% of my friends would have no idea what threading is.  SO, you may have to be very descriptive or have some way to educate women about threading.

Get a piece of paper and just scribble every name that pops into your head -even the crazy ones!  Get a friend to do it, too and then say them all out loud.  Keep narrowing them down and then sleep on your favorite ones for several days.

Good luck!

Kim`s advice is spot on. Threading is still very new to the U.S. especially.

I would definitely have something about skin or threading or hair removal in the name. Or you can make a sort of subhead to your business name.

Good luck!
