My target Market are Teenage Girls and their mothers. This is what Mineral Girlz is designed for. I just started a yahoo group for  Teenage Girls and need some Topic Ideas for discussions that would appeal to the teenage girl.  The idea is to focus on beauty the natural way, but I also want it to be a place on building relationships and allow for teenage girls to chat about their problem areas. What kinds of topics, activities should I do to get my site active?

Where do I need to frequent as far as social networking places (free ones)?

any ideas would be appreciated.

Hello.  I`m a single guy in my thirties so I don`t have ANY suggestions about teenage girl topics.  But I wanted to throw out some thoughts about your Yahoo group.

I took a look at your site to get an idea of what MineralGirlz is about.  I think its great that you want to provide a place for girls to talk about various things.

I have little experience with Yahoo Groups but can you create different categories of topics?  Categories like Fashion, School, Boys, etc. seem appropriate for teen girls.  This might help you break down your concepts into ways to start conversations going.

Other than a Yahoo Group, have you thought about perhaps starting a blog?  There are other ways to get into conversations with your market than a Yahoo Group.  Just a thought.

I must say though, it strikes me odd that if you are at a loss for topics, why is it that you want to run an online community?

First suggestion: Teenage girls are not on Yahoo! groups.

They are on MySpace, Facebook, Xanga, Ning, and texting their little thumbs away. Most of them don`t even have the need for email addresses anymore - they live in their little social networking worlds and contact each other that way.

I agree with Steve - you have a serious gap to overcome here. You`d be better off hiring a couple of teen girls as your "spokepeople", pay them to blog and start topics, and move off Yahoo! and on to a better platform for the age group you are trying to reach.

Hi Mineralgirlz,

My suggestion would be to ask teenage girls...they would know better than any of us here what they want and don`t want on a web site :)
