Hey Moni16,

What kind of business are you aspiring to get into? Integration work? Selling products only? Consulting?

I own a distribution company and a security integration company. Our distribution company sells CCTV cameras, DVR`s, Door hardware, etc. Check us out - www.sandsid.com or shoot me a PM here.

There is good money to be made in the security business, but also a lot of hard work to get it too. People need to be sold on solutions and realize the amount of money they are putting out for a camera/dvr system is something they need. Many folks don`t see an ROI on security until something bad happens.

Give me a little more info on your ideas and I can try to help out some more.

I currently work in security and surveillance field.  You are using a very general term to describe these fields.  But here are several issues to think about.

First, Do you know anything about surveillance systems?  Note I used the word systems.  You don’t just hang a camera up somewhere.  The camera feed has to go somewhere.  That leads to questions about where the camera feed will be monitored.  Will it be monitored on site, or at an off site location.  If it’s at an off site location, how will you transmit the image?  What type of camera you will install?  Not only are there different types of cameras.  There are different ratings for cameras.  Do you know what IP 68 means for example?

Will you hire some one or get rated as an integrator (equipment installer) for surveillance systems.  Most manufactures of surveillance equipment wont deal with the end user (your client) if something doesn’t work.  Manufactures only work through “integrators” to resolve problems with equipment.

If you are talking about “security”, what type of security are you referring to?

So, maybe you can be more specific in what you want to set up.  I can help once you get to that stage of your process.  You can reach me at “www.spcfreelance.com”

Until then, have a great day and keep moving forward towards your dream.
