I live in the state of Florida and I would like to have my own home-based business.  I will be selling clothes online.  I will only be shipping to the U.S. , and I will be choosing the LLC type.  I was thinking to sell through www.buyitsellit.com Web site.  It looks like it`s easy to use, since I have no knowledge at building Websites and have little money to pay someone to do it.  Can anyone please offer some advise as what are the steps to follow.
1) Does anyone here have an online business that can offer some advise?
2) Do I need a special license for ecommerce?
3) Do I need a special license for my home business?
4) Do you have any suggestions for buyitsellit.com?  Do you know of any other Website like buyitsellit.com?  Is it as good as it seems?

P.S.  Any help is appreciated in advance.

Thanks!!!!!

There are no federal licensing requirements, you should check at the state and local levels of government, you likely, at the very least, need some type of sales tax permit.

what you need is a reseller certificate so that you do not get taxed when you procure your merchandise (assuming you are buying in wholesale for the sole purpose of reselling).  you have to account for buyers in your local state of business/incorporation as you will need to charge them a sales tax and pass it on to the taxing authorities.

There are many routes you can take in terms of a selling site.  I would suggest you try multiple inexpensive avenues.  What level of interest do you have in your own domain name such as mona1007.com?  Many "shared" web hosts offer ecommerce packages at a very low rate per month and it will allow you to have your own domain.

You can also use other services that will give you a site name after their site name.  For example on myplace2sell.com, you can create a web presence and have a url that is www.myplace2sell.com/nameofyoursite.  Other sites also do this such as live.com, amazon, yahoo.com.   It really all depends on what your goals are for branding and marketing.  I suggest you try out various options until you find something that feels right to you.

Best of luck with your products!

Yup, these people have some pretty good advise for you man. But I would strongly recommend you build your own website.

You might want to take a look at Bonanzle, as Kathy`s been having a whole lot more success and ease-of-use with it than with BuyitSellit. It`s a better system, has a more active community, and importantly, has no direct affiliations with eBay (which is going down in flames).
