To Rich:

Took your advice and am getting feedback now. I have never posted a question in a forum before, and am liking the results. Thank you and StartupNation for providing this service.

larry, if it helps, you can also use the "QUOTE" function (above and to the right of each comment). when you click it, it captures the words from that particular post within your topic and opens a new comment window for you so you can do a new post referring to the quoted comment. just start typing after you see the last "

".

now, to your question, have you done a press release about this yet? the Sarasota Technology conference was swarming with reporters interested in highlighting interesting small businesses and trends. find a reporter/journalist whose work you like and who you think covers your kind of story, "new business launced," or "entrepreneur opens business against all odds," or "this new business can`t get arrested!" - whatever the unique, attention grabbing angle might be... call the journalists, and PITCH  AWAY!!!

if they run a story, you`ll create tons of awareness about your business that will hopefully turn into demand.

you might get some benefit from doing a search on our site (search function is in upper right hand corner of all pages on our site) for "public relations". i got 65 results, and the first several were a bull`s eye!!!

Thanks for the tutorial in how to reply in forums; I`ll get the hang of this yet. I did a press release on 8/23 and have generated some interest in local papers and magazines. The Herald Tribune interviewed me and published a small piece in a business column. I was glad that happened, but was disappointed they did not mention my web address, or phone number. I have had several people make the effort to call me without that information. I plan to run an ad in that paper, and will surely give people the numbers and address.

I will now check out the search of public relations you mention. By the way, I paid a small fee to a press release company, and my release now shows up when you search for my site. I was surprised there are now two links when you go to Google and search `Store 2 Door Sarasota`.
