You will want to do a lot more research, but you can start with your local revenue office. Before you get to that point though, I would seriously suggest you speak with someone at your local Small Business Advisory office. Be prepared to have a business plan handy.
You might also have a simple consultation with an attorney. Not some
high-priced lawyer, just someone who can at least give you the basics
of why you would need a license, and outline the steps you`d need to
take when you`re ready for that process.
Just go down to your local business licensing department, tell them you need a license or permit for what every you do. They will explain what you need and help you through the whole process. It is usually located in your city or county offices. Or look under city offices, business licenses, in the yellow pages.
