Hi,

I`m trying to start my own venture, initially a services based firm and later move on to develop products. I have the expertise in the technology. However, I`m approaching few of my friends to join my venture to share the EXTENSIVE workload and start in locations where I cannot be physically present. A friend of mine was ready to join me after analyzing the concept and mainly based on his confidence in my technological expertise.

I`m wondering on what should be the deal. Ideally, I would like to employ them but since I cannot afford to give them fat pay checks, I`ve approached them to be my partners. What is the percentage share that sounds reasonable ?

Thanks in advance,

You may want to think about doing an incorporation. Have them work for equity in your corporation or do a partnership agreement with them. You can find many partnership agreements online, but you may have to modify them to your liking.
