My site domain name is not a real world, in fact it's a misspelling of a real world, like Flickr is to "flicker."

Whenever I try to query my site in Google just using my domain name, Google automatically reforms the query to the "correctly" spelled word and shows its results. It does provide an option to search my original query, but that's not ideal.

How do I get Google to recognize my site in a query as not a misspelling? Is it a matter of not having enough traffic or back-links?

I'm assuming Flickr must've encountered the same issues when it started. What's the best way to remedy this issue?
