I run a small web design company and was wondering what you other designers out there think on this one. One of the competitior's of one of my main clients contacted me today and wants me to build their website. It will be an E-commerce site so the money is good but I don't know if I really want to go there. What do you guys think?

Unless you're ready to write off that client's entire industry, do it...of course you should do it. I don't really have any other advice besides that.

Hi Brian - let me ask you this question - would you only buy your coffee from one coffee shop, or have you tried others?

I'm not sure what type of industry it is, but let's just say it's for a jewelry store - why would it matter if both jewelry stores wanted to have a web presence. They probably both have their own specific uniqueness that makes their website different from the others.

I think that you're in the business of designing websites so not taking the job doesn't make sense.

Unless you have a contract that forbids you from working for another company, do the web site.  After all, you are not employed by the first company.  You are and independent contractor for hire.
