Hello fellow SUNions. I have just finished my website and would like to get some feed back. The url is www.freewebs.com/cecharles/. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated. I am aware of things like double spacing and that should be fixed at any moment.

One thing I would like suggestions on is, is the text on my page to long? Should I break it into columns to shorten the text?  Also,, should I add advertisement to any of the pages?

I think the text on the page is too wide, in general. It`s hard for people to read something that goes all the way across the page. So I would shorten it and then put it into narrower columns.

I would also change your color scheme - its a little painful on the eyes, the contrast between the text and the background.

I also think that everyone should buy their own domain for a professional image, so they`d have www.their-domain.com, not www.someone-elses-domain.com/your-folder/

Thanks for the tips. Concerning the text that is what caught my eye also. I will shorten it and put it into columns. Will experiment with the color to find the right contrast. Thanks again.

Hi Charlie, welcome to the community :-)

I looked at your site, and have to say, I was nearly blinded. The bright green background is a bit much, in my opinion. Then the font is too small for that brightness.

I saw your other post, that you`re using Nvu, which is an excellent application. I`d start by leaving the background color alone---basic white. You can play with it later, when you`ve got your text and formatting corrected.

Under the "What I do" topic, you`re using asterisks, which nobody does anymore excepting in footnotes. You can use the "bullet" tool button in Nvu to use real bullets.

Here`s a tutorial for Nvu that`s been very valuable for me.

Hmmm.I might get bashed for this, but I might also being saying what others are thinking.  You say you offer webdesign?  How can that be?  Why would you even put that on there.  Is this serious?

What web design do you offer? Seriously, it seems you don`t know the first thing about webdesign, but offer it as one of your top services. In my opinion I would not offer that and focus on you other areas of expertise. 

If you had come on here and said I made a site can you all please help, than that would be one thing.  However, your site says you help people design sites.  I am confused on that one.  I mean If the site looked at all like it came from someone with skills in webdesign, than you would be taken serious, but there is SO much wrong with it.
