I have joined 2 MLM businesses before, and they turned out to be scams.

One of them did not even have products out yet. They were keep promising that the products will be out soon, however, kept on pushing the release dates back. Basically, we had nothing to sell to the customers/ clients while paying the monthly fee and up front fee. I had to separate myself from this absurd business practice.

The other one I joined, my recruiter ,who brought me in, omitted many important information and told me few lies. One of them was that I only had to pay the start up fee (joining fee) of $299. That was it and nothing else other than monthly fee if you purchase some stuff. They strongly encourage you buy some stuff yourself as well so I was pressured into trying out few products while paying monthly. I've worked so hard around my busy college schedule. I must have gone through about 100+ interviews and only 1 person joined. That 1 person was one of those majority of people who thought he/she could get rich by just joining. I have lost great deal of money for about a year and once it was almost about to a year with that MLM company, they asked for $199 renewal fee. I was surprised that I wasn't informed nor notified of this for whole year. I mean I was basically telling the same lie to my potential future team members that $299 was it. I've attended all kinds of seminar, training, and meetings within the company. Not even a word of this came out. This is a huge problem with MLM company. B/c of these kinds of secrets kept in low, they even have worse image of being shady.

After these 2 horrible MLM experiences, I have promised myself not to get suckered into another. It's hard to convince me since I already gave MLM a 2nd chance...
