We’re hoping to feature some new businesses in hot categories on future StartupNation Radio shows.  If you fit into this category, we’d love to know more about it.

A really hot category for new businesses is just about anything catering to senior citizens.  There are senior day care centers, relocation services that help them downsize and move, there are dog walking and poop-scooping services that target the over-50 communities.  There are companion services; shopping and transportation providers…. The list goes on and on.

A recent caller on StartupNation Radio talked about his company that takes senior citizens out of nursing homes for a few hours of shopping, walking, or dining in a restaurant.  His business is booming.  His clients?  Guilt-ridden baby boomers who live out of town and can’t see their parents often enough.

Have you started a business that caters to seniors? Or are you considering one? What do you do, and how is it going?

It's very expensive to do that. The start up cost could amount to at least 500K.
