This is what concerns me, and I am not saying someone can`t walk away without learning something. But, if you look at Starbuck`s business model, it is NOT doing well. People are flocking to MickyD`s (Lowest of the lows) to other coffee houses. Why?

- Coffee prices are WAY to high
- No Customer Loyalty program like punch cards every 13th drink free
- Refills (If you bring in your own mug) is 10 cents off. That is too little of a discount.
- Never has coupons, execpt for employees to give to friends and the last one before I stopped going were web coupons and people printed them out over and over and they stopped accepting them. That was wrong.

Starbuck`s sets up a website to take suggestions, and what do people want? Loyalty programs, coupons, bigger cup discounts, I forget maybe lower prices. Now why couldn`t Starbuck`s figure this out on their own?

Now Lets look at Biggby`s Model (Was Beaners. They changed it because the name used to be derogitory towards Mexican`s. I think people could tell they were not offending people and if you went to beaners.com minus the S, you will see Mexicans with no cloths on. I think thats the real reaon.)

Any ways: They let their store order products they want, lower prices, have more things (not all on board), refill size on mug is $1.25 any size, GOOD coffee, punch card and eNewsletter has a coupon every week! Depending on who you get, and franchisee, they may do a little somthing for regulars sometimes.

Who would you rather go to?

Also MickD`s uses a high end essresso machine and their coffee is not that great. I think once people go to Biggby`s they will want to come back. Only thing they are just expanding out of Michigan.

No Biggby`s around here in NY so Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Mc Donalds and other coffee houses are all competing for business. Starbucks have marketed to a specific market - they want the consumer to feel that they are paying for an exclusive experience - they over charge and the consumer feels as though they are a part of an exclusive club. How many times have you heard someone say they can`t live without their Starbucks (exotic coffee name) I wonder what were they doing before Starbucks opened.

In any case, I don`t care how expensive or inexpensive the coffee is - it is my choice to purchase and when I do it better be very good I hate to spend my money and find that the product is not up to my taste even if I paid a nickel...............
