Whether meta description is important or not in on page optimization? If it is, then is it important for users or search engines? Please reply here. Thanks in advance.

They can also go to the website by watching the title in SERPs. So in your view meta description is important for users? Can you please tell me if we don't give any meta description, then search engine will give it priority or not? Thanks for the response.
