I currently do club promotions in the city where I reside. I promote for the night life crowd. I`m a college student and I really find marketing and advertising a real solid niche that I have been waiting for because starting my own company has always been something I wanted to do. I want to start an advertising / marketing company. Any ideas on how to make this happen. Now advertising and marketing night clubs is what I do, but I really want to have a day career. The night life crowd is a good business but I really want to get into something more in depth and more potential for growth. Please respond with any info you may have.

I`d recommend you read Drayton Bird`s book
"Commonsense Direct Marketing"

It`s a good overview of the direct marketing industry.

I think that since you know the night-life crowd you should
try to specialize in marketing to that demographic - many of
them don`t have kids and may have more disposable income.

Many of your local businesses will be interested in reaching
the groups you are already familiar with.
