As some of you know, my son has special needs. He was born 6 weeks premature and with birth defects and a chromosomal abnormality. This cause, this organization is very near and dear to my heart. I hope that you can all spare some time to support the efforts of a very worthy organization. Thank you in advance for your support! Check out our team page...and the information below!  Team TatorTots
We`ve formed our WalkAmerica team to raise money to help all babies be born healthy. Please join us in this important endeavor. Simply sign up from this page to walk or support financially.

The money we raise helps fund research to find out why premature birth happens and what can be done to prevent it. Premature birth is the #1 cause of newborn death and the biggest threat to babies` health today.

Can you think of anything more important than the health of our babies? If you can`t join us, please donate to our team from this page. It`s fast, easy and secure.

The March of Dimes mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

` Can you think of anything more important than the health of our babies?`

Sure, lots of things, but I don`t use valuable SuN forum space to solicit for them.
If we have every possible cause out there posting on this site (and why wouldn`t we?), this place is going to be very crowded with stuff which has absolutely nothing to do with entrepreneurship.

I realize this isn`t a direct solicitation for a business, but I still don`t think it`s an appropriate use of this forum. If you think it is, let`s open the door to all the rest of the causes out there, and there are thousands of them.

Jeff A. Gregory-BrandAlchemy,

Get the hell off this site, you negative bully! Do your damn research about harrassing. What kind of PassionateStrategist brands himself an attacking moron....

Wow...thank you for the back up TarBaby.

BA - I know you are passionate about organizations that support those in our society that need it most as I have witnessed this on another thread. So I will attempt to clarify, or at least defend my position.

I posted this particular post in THIS particular area because it is EVERYTHING ELSE. This is just "coffee talk". This community is not just a community of entreprenuers but of friends...I consider many of the other members friends...as such...I like to talk to my friends and get support from my friends. And as TarBaby mentioned, my startup is a nonprofit...and I strongly support the other nonprofits who missions are compatible with my own. To that end...I look to help others support those organizations that I support.

Furthermore, as business owners we are all (hopefully) looking for ways to be socially responsible. If your business would like the opportunity to show support and thus show social responsibility (based on business management standards, not personal or political standards)...this is a good opportunity.

That said, if Startup Nation and/or the majority of its members feels that this post is unwarranted or unwanted on their website...I am more than happy to discontinue such posts...and they can very easily remove this thread from their site. There will be no hard feelings and no love lost. This site and its members are valuable to me personally and in business and I will respect their decisions.

Thank you for your support.

Whether or not your startup is a non-profit (you pay yourself no salary - wow), and regardless of the Everything Else category, imagine the traffic if we posted every Girl Scout Cookie Sale, MS, MDA, American Red Cross, Bone Marrow, Cancer Awareness, Kidney Disease ... see where this could go?

Sure, we are and should be involved in giving back, and I do as well. I just don`t think this is the place to solicit for that stuff. Just my opinion.

This isn`t an attack, and I`m certainly no moron, TarBaby, but I do believe your screen name fits your style of communicating.

I have friends on this site as well (shocker, I know). If I have a cause such as this, I would email them and solicit their support. Nothing wrong with that.

But if we all use this site for each and every cause that we are all involved in, that would make for a very full screen of things which are not related to why we are here.

By the way, your 501-C 3 status doesn`t mean that you don`t make money - in fact, you get to keep more of it, since you`re exempt from taxes. That`s not a virtue, it`s a tax status.
