How can you design a physical product and have it produced in china /etc. ?
Do you have to be an engineer for the design ?Can you hire cheaply an engineer or can you simply contact a Chinese based engineer , tell them your vision for a product and ask them to engineer / produce it.
How does it work to get started with producing a gadget ?

You can hire engineers to design your products. Just be sure to have the proper protection in place. I have done some business in China and it really depends on who you are dealing with. Take your time, Get to know the people. Don`t just be a number or you will be treated as such. Ask about families, get personal, but not political.
