Hello,

We run a homemade style jam, jelly, and butter business. And we are thinking about getting our products into stores. I have done a bit of research and have decided that hiring a manufactures rep would be the best choice. Is there any objections?

Anyways, what none of these articles told you is how to find a manufactures representative. All suggestions would be appreciated!

Thank You!

What I've read you can do is target stores you'd like to be in that carry products similar to yours. Then try to find out who the purchaser is for your type of product line for that store. Talk to them and explain that you have a new product line. See if you can get the name of their multi-line rep. Then contact that rep. It's a free way to proceed.

It may take you several tries to get contact info. In the process, you might also get some good tips from the purchasing agents if you can get to talk to them.  I'd start with smaller local specialty stores where it would be easier to talk to someone than big box stores where corporate may do the purchasing.

Good luck!
