I was curious, I know you can buy and sell domain names on certain sites; how may one go about this in a way to a make a reasonable income?

I'm a college student planning to work 15 credit hours fall semester. I wont have much time to work anywhere else other than home. How can you implement an effective strategy in buying domains? Is ".com" always the most appropriate domain suffix, or does .uk and ones such as that bring positive returns too?

Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Tyler, I've looked into this and from what I can tell, like most things, only the "Big Boys & Girls" make any money at this.  I gather it takes a portfolio of thousands of domain names to be able to do anything.  I'd love to be proven wrong, but it looks like it's not worth it for the little guy.

I wish I knew what was.

I know some people who buy domains and sell them and have made  ton of money but 1)you need quite a bit of money to purchase a lot of domains 2)you need to pick the right ones. Some of these domains are going for tons of money but I think a lot are already taken so you'd have to get creative with your domain selection. I personally wouldn't do it since it is risky and will involve a lot of overhead costs.

Hello, 1st of all it's not that hard to sell domain names.  Just go to fiverr.com there are plenty of people there that will create you amazing domain name and then you could sell them for a higher profit. 

2nd if your looking to start a business go to this free business Credit Forum there you will find all the information you need to build a business and raise the funding.

3rd Here's a company that lets you keep 100% of the commission.  Just to drive traffic to her site.  I think she's either crazy or just plain desperate, but hey money is money.

The best idea would be to ask your colleagues if they want to get involved in this because you need to buy a lot of domain names and you need a lot of money for that. Since you are a student I guess you won`t have enough money and you could use some help even from students learning at online college, after that you can be lucky and find people that would like to buy a domain name from you. If they come with a decent proposal raise the price because for sure they would give any amount of money you will want.
