After President Obama`s speech last night I am ready to tackle the hurdles of this economy and keep our eye on the prize.

For entrepreneurs I think it is a great time to tap our imaginations and put our new ideas to use.

While we have some things to put in perspective as a country, I have no doubts that we will bounce back from this economic abyss and during this time many of us will make our ventures grow and prosper.

I`m looking to the future with enthusiasm!

We will bounce back sooner if Obama quits.  The stock market is down over 25% since Obama took office and even more since Obama was leading in the polls before the election.

I`m with you James. My outlook has nothing to do with his policies, that`s for sure. It could get tougher for all of us but we need to keep our eyes on the prize!

I think we can agree that over the past 20+ years, society has become more and more polarized. We`re "split" right down the middle, and each side now has about no room for compromise.

In that split, we`ve also marginalized certain types of people and behavior. Merit, for example, doesn`t exist in the corporate environment. Lots of things don`t succeed, where in the past they did succeed.

A simple phrase, "nice guys finish last" has more truth to it these days than in the past. How come? That`s another reason for the polarization.

One good thing about the chaos we`re embarking on is that ALL behavior will be thrown into chaos.

I think the future will provide a proving ground for all the assumptions and arguments of the past 50 years. Chaos not only makes things confusing, it also *removes* restrictions and constraints.

In other words, more chaos means less governance. Rules only work in a managed, stable environment. If those rules are useful, great. If not, how would we know or get rid of them?

General chaos not only breaks down infrastructure, it also breaks down rule systems. To return to organization (and stability), requires re-creating rules. But in a chaotic environment, each rule becomes "new" again, and has an immediate effect.

I see no other way to get past this total polarization than to first have total chaos. Obama is proposing clamping down on the current environment, which therefore would lead to even more polarization.

It`s not that conservatives are "gloom and doom," it`s that the hopeful collapse of the current system will allow for some kind of solution to the polarization. The solution isn`t to re-stabilize a failed system. It`s to introduce "room" for a new system.

In my point of view, it`s not going to be the government that pulls us up, it`s going to have to be the people and the small businesses. The big businesses have shown us that all they`ve done is abuse the system. Which might have worked (for a time) to their advantage, but are now falling apart and coming undone at the seams. The sad part is, that many small businesses, can`t hold on to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
