LOL! Well, now that my 2 close friends from SUN have found me...I guess it`s a mighty small world eh?
It`s my belief that cyberspace is filled with websites that offer the `lowest prices` and/or the `largest selections`. I`m further of the belief that as the consumer finds more and more of these sites, the unique companies with the most interesting stories to tell will rise above the `noise` of everyday Google searches.
Let me give you an example:
If you put out a press release that says "we sell widgets, and we offer the best selection of widgets anywhere!" you will get one reaction. (whatever that reaction will be)
If you put out a press release that says "We sell quality widgets, and we donate 10% of our profits to (put charity here)." then you have a story to tell. The story is not how great your widgets are. The story is the work that you do for the charity.
Now, if I am someone that likes said charity, I know that everytime I buy from you some money is going to `x. Where does my money go when I buy from Amazon? That`s right...to the vendor and to Amazon. Where does my money go when I buy from (place globally-known website here)? That`s right...to there.
Think, too - wouldn`t the people in charge of `X` charity be willing to give you some free press if they knoew you were raising money for them? Wouldn`t they want to put you in their newsletter or in their envelope stuffers?
So I wanted to share thoughts and ideas with sites that wanted to expriment with this idea...
