"Be tough but don`t hurt me."
What fun would that be??

Overall, it`s easy to follow.  I would recommend that you put more keyword in tour page titles (tabs), especially your location.  I had to do some searching to figure out where you are located.

Interesting problem. :-) What if I`m a wimp, can I hurt you then? LOL! Nah...just messin` around.

But it still offers an interesting problem, how to best showcase a construction company. First of all, I`m going to assume you`re not a national company? If that`s true, then you need to better highlight your geographic service area. On the "custom homes" tab, it looks like a desert, maybe? That got me wondering what I`d do around here in the Chicago area. I only found the Scottsdale reference at the very end, under Contact Us.

The next big problem is that text isn`t really going to cut it all that well, in this particular situation. I`d want to read a lot about the company, but only AFTER I`ve been enticed by your work. I do like that quality matters, and I got a strong credibility boost seeing your Marine Corps. affiliation. That`s excellent!

But it`s not enough.

Let`s say I want a custom home. I probably already know where I want it to be located. So I`ll type in, "custom homes Virginia Beach," or some other location. I`m not likely going to just type in "custom homes."

This comes down to your strategic business plan. Where do you want to focus, what kind of homes will you build, who`s your target market, and how can you fulfill the needs of a niche?

If, on the other hand, you`re a construction company building more than custom homes, that`s not at all evident on the current site.

As to color scheme, it`s a bit....I dunno....Crayola? I got a visceral sense of it being a child`s site, and that`s no good. Not for a construction company. One problem is I think too many primary colors, without anything joining them together. There`s no color "theme."

Also, your fonts need to be pulled together. You have Very Big and Really Small. Choose one, somewhere in the middle and conform them across the entire site. Best way to do this is with "styles," otherwise known as CSS.

On a marketing level, I`d really try to put together a tab where you can address the fundamental sales objection of these financial times: "Why would I build a custom home when I can pick up just about anything I want in a troubled market?"

Additionally, I`d spend some time marketing the Scottsdale area, making it an attractive choice for living, investment, or whatever else would pull in potential buyers. Have you thought about associating with a realtor, or having your own real estate licensing?

Hi,

Gosh..what a beautiful staircase...gorgeous.. The colors are well, but the font is a little large and i would add more visuals. It is easy to navigate and a good start!

It is a good start.  I get a sense that the site does not reflect the same high quality and top notch professionalism that your business runs on.  The colors are a bit bold, like something out of a crayola box.  The text is large, and not the right style.  Overall, the page looks like it was created from a template.  The pictures of the houses is great!  The homepage should play off that even more.

I recommend hiring a professional designer to bring your site to the next level.  Your business deserves it!

Let me know if I can help,

I scrolled through the previous posts prior to writing mine and found the same suggestion I also noticed off the bat.  And that would be the font.  Th aesthetics of your business and the work you do is just not being represented at first glance of your webpage.  I`m thinking it`s because your only font options are the generic few to pick from but if you cut and paste from word it should transfer over.  In your attempt to be different maybe by not going with the luxury beiges, oceanic blues or cranberries concerning color, keep trying other options eventually you`ll find just the right color palette and be different.  Hope that wasn`t too harsh.

Your site is pretty basic and looks like a good start.  The first thing I notice is that it is not optimized.  You need to spend some time or money on having it optimized to help get some traffic to your site.

Good Luck with your business looks like you do great work.
