Hi,

I just joined the forums, and I'm not sure this is the best place for this kind of post, but just let me know if there is a better place. A little bit about me quickly: I'm 23, just graduated college with a GPA of 3.81 and a B.A. in History and Education, I have my high school teaching license, but I would like to explore the possibilities of online business. I worked for seven years for an educational software company with responsibilities that included online research, website upkeep, software and manual design and production, and data entry.

Basically, I'm looking to get in touch with people who have ideas. I consider myself an intelligent person but my mind is very analytical and information-processing focused. I'm not very creative or artistic. I've never been able to create something physical, but I excel at critical and abstract thinking. I am also quite adept at quickly picking up a new skill or concept, as I am a very fast learner. In addition, I have excellent technology skills. I enjoy using the internet for research or to educate myself on any subject, and I have a basic level of experience in things like creating a website or doing market research. Again, I believe my fluid intelligence is my greatest asset, and being able to learn something and understand its use/application very quickly could be put to use for someone who has something to actually sell. Overall, I feel that my skills are well suited towards the online management of a startup rather than the product/service creation end.

Really, I'm just looking for a start here, testing the waters to see if online business is something that would fit with my skillset. If anyone is interested in chatting with me, send me a PM or reply and we can get in touch. Also, any suggestions or comments are appreciated as well. I definitely think I would enjoy being involved in an online business, but creating a start-up myself seems like it would require another person working with me on this. Thanks!

It's great to recognize your strengths and weaknesses. Not many people our age can do that.  I am more of an ideas person and I am currently in the role of executor.

Thought I am not looking to hire anyone full-time (nor do I know anyone who is hiring full-time people right now), I would suggest working as a freelancer.

List out a bunch of your skills and how they will help a business owner.  Then you can post yourself on craigslist.com, elance and odesk to become a freelancer in your field.

I hope this helps.

Hello

A good idea would be to start a community like the one here

or  a ning community   software is cheap  I started australiancontacts.ning.com just for my Australian friends to help keep in contact.

You could start an community for ideas people. A friend of mine started a community using php fox see banner for Chinese youth interested in music. In 3 months he had 50,000 members.

Hope this helps
