I`ve been self-employed on a full-time basis for the past 21 years, selling custom-printed promotional advertising products to business, industry, and government entities. For those not familiar with promotional advertising, it is any of 800,000 different products that carry a business or organization`s name/logo/message aimed at meeting specific goals.
The product may be a key ring, mouse pad, coffee mug, calendar, golf ball, embroidered sport shirt, pocket screwdriver, calculator, T-shirt, cap, lapel pin, umbrella, or something you`ve never even seen before. The idea is that is can work 24/7 to carry a message to a targeted audience.
I also sponsor and train others in the same business, assisting them with start-up, product searches, finding suppliers for `rush` orders, and more.
The bulk of my customers are local, but I also service regional clients in the Houston, TX market, as well as online buyers from coast to coast.

I`ve also entered my business in the SUN Top 100 Home-based Businesses, but I posted mine under "Most Recession Proof", which is really being proven the past 6 weeks, as existing clients are ordering more, and referring more prospective customers to me.
I just had two local contacts refer me to buyers at the corporate level of their hospital group. With over 40 hospitals, plus clinics and other off-campus facilities, and medical services covering the full gamut of health care, spread across a dozen states and into Mexico, this is a big jump for my business.
I`d welcome your consideration in voting for my "recession-proof" business.

I am the eCommerce manager for Zendoo.com. We are the leading online retailer of used cell phones.
We started the company about 4 years ago with the idea that we could help with the ever growing problem of toxic electronic waste by creating a secondary market for used electronics. We quickly changed our focus exclusively to cell phones as the tendency of people to replace their phones every year or so led us to believe this was the area where we could do the most good.
As of today we have recirculated 150,000 phones and recycled over 1 million.
