Yes, I am in big trouble without a plan B right now ... plan B was blowing off work today and playing for 4 hours at the park.

The other issue, besides the privacy thing when you start calling parents, and depending on someone ... is that when you are a small business, your employees become family. At least, that`s the kind of culture I have for my business. When there`s only a few people, the setting seems a lot more intimate. Especially when one of my employees works right in my house, and is around my child - that person is adopted family to me.

I am not the kind of boss who has really clear cut boundaries between BOSS and EMPLOYEE. I work with my employees like a team, and we all care about each other and make compromises.

So, I definitely think that is a much different dynamic for our little startup than when I used to work at companies with 100+ people.

Nikole,

The part-time, low wages thing I can handle. You in boxers and a t-shirt - that may require me to review my catastrophic cardiac coverage policy. Let me get back to you...

I`m leaning towards yes, of course...

Ok, how about I pay you $100-120 per hour just on the boxers/t-shirt gig alone, and I`ll hire a nanny to keep an eye on the kid?

Are we getting close here?

Nikole,

You did the right thing, privacy issue or not.  She is like clockwork, she knows you are expecting her and that you will be concerned if she does not show up.  It`s a shame we have to second guess the right thing because of laws that could backfire on us.  I hope she is okay.

This from a woman who sells `sexy lingere`.

Hey, we may have a deal here. Boxers/t-shirt trade with onthebeach and it`s a done deal. That would definitely spice up your marriage, Nikole, when your husband came after me with one of those badly-trademarked M4 rifles.

CraigL, see how the universe is in fact all connected?

No, no - you have to go back and read the thread. I`m attempting to negotiate with Nikole on being the nanny, since she said she has seen her in her pj`s. I find Nikole to be quite attractive, see, so the addition of your products could really make this quite a good offer! Please send a catalog!

If I hadn`t read the thread I wouldn`t have been able to make a comment, so your summation was not necessary.  I don`t sell boxers or t-shirts, you`re on your own Jeff.

No problem. I was really more in the lingerie market anyway.

Not for myself, mind you. Although I`ve heard that from time to time, CraigL... well, nevermind.
