Getalawyer hopes to launch the equivalent of ebay for legal services. The site has not yet been launched but can be viewed at http://www.ugsoftware.net/dbbeukes/dev/ .

The site allows individuals and businesses alike to find a lawyer in Australia based on their particular requirements through the implementation of a `contest`. Lawyers who want to drum up business may use the site to create a profile and compete for work.

Australia has between 17- 22 million people [estimate] and roughly 55k lawyers. Most people are concerned about the cost of legal fees and would welcome an opportunity to find out some useful information before they instruct someone.

The site is currently meeting with opposition from professional bodies who are yet to give their reasons.

The site will eventually be launched at www.getalawyer.com.au but requires some feedback in terms of useability before moving forwards.

Please feel free to provide us with your feedback. Kindly keep in mind that we are already meeting with significant opposition so encouragement would be appreciated!

Comments to feedback@getalawyer.com.au please!

Cheers,
Pre-launch Team

Well, I`ll just say it looks pretty good! It reminds me of a few large banking websites. The artifacting though in the images (especially when they could be text) is a bit distracting:
