It depends on your abilities with a graphics program. The basic options are:
  1. to hire a third-party logo designer/firm (a few on SUN).
  2. to use an online logo program.
  3. to use a logo creating program/software.
  4. to use a graphic program.
Basicly, the logo program provide you with some built-in graphics/templates and you go from there. Similarly the online sites provide some graphics from which to choose and your decide on the layout colors and text.

Using a graphics program you start from scratch or a graphic and work from there.

Here are some logo software sites.

Also check here for some free and for purchase logo software.

At one time I tried a sample version of AAA logo... but I found such programs limiting.
They had limited graphics included or the layouts were not applicable for my needs.

Hi,

You should make sure that the program you choose makes vector logos. Vectors can be resized without losing quality.

I personally use Adobe Illustrator, but there is a bit of a learning curve with this program. I hope you find a solution that works for you.

Thanks,

Staniel

Hello PRINCIPE,

If you are good at graphics then you will b able to create a good logo with all the free software stuff`s. But according to me the logo should be designed such that it reflects the image of your venture and products & services. The basic requirements are:

 - You should be good at choosing colors.
 - You should be ready with the meaning of the logo (what it
     should reflect)
 - You must have a vision as what type of logo will be best suitable.

Now you have two major options available:
 - Either use the free softwares available for logo design
 - Or hire a logo designer/web-graphics company.

If you are good at colors and graphics then go for option 1 or I would recomend for option 2.

Best Regards,
Technocraz

Hi,

designing a logo for your company is VERY important, you don`t want to leave it up to fate, you want to be actively involved in the process and making it come to life. i can help you.

i am a graphic designer, with 5+ years of professional logo design. i currently work for an ad agency, where much of my work is in concept logo design and i spend much of my free time freelancing as well.

i understand everyone is on a budget and wants to get as much as they can for as little as they can spend, so i can be flexible on costs. we can work something out together.

check out my portfolio, and we can make a time to talk about ideas.   http://www.coroflot.com/gingerbryan

thanks!
