My problem: I am working alone inside an LLC and I need to find someone quickly to help me. I do not have money to pay a CPA nor an lawyer to hire someone with equity in the company nor with a regular salary (need a payroll company to know exactly how to pay taxes etc.)

What is the easiest way to hire someone (.legally of course!): contractor? what contract to do? Any suggestion?

What is the easiest way to give equity in the company?

A reailly good question. I am starting my LLC as well. Can you issue shares just like a c-corp?

BTW, You can easily obtain wage tables to tell you how much withholding for every dollar.

My solution to needing temp help is to use the "agencies" like labor ready or manpower, they have divisions with specialist skill sets like financial.

The agency takes care of all the details of payroll, taxes etc. and if you only need someone a few weeks or a couple days a week thats all you get.

Downside is you may not always be able to get the same person if you go on and off.

Just a thought

If you want to give away a portion of equity, it`s certainly going to be easy to do if you`re a corporation. Also, be ready to experience some reluctance on the side of the contractor to do work in exchange for anything other than cash.

Depending upon your needs you might try hiring a Virtual Assistant - VA`s can do a wide variety of tasks from general office duties to managerial level work. You don`t have the overhead of an office, computer, payroll taxes, etc. They are Independent Contractors and receive a 1099.

Stan mentioned Labor Ready and Manpower and they work well if you have a bricks and mortar office. If you you want the expertise of a Human Resources agency that specializes in Virtual Services, please let me know. Team Double-Click is the industry leader in Virtual Staffing Services!
