Am I missing something or after I set up my LLC I still need to pay this humongous amount of money to have it published on a local newspaper?
According to my CPA, the cost to publish in NY could reach $1,900.00!!!!

Can someone please tell me this is not true? Pinch me so I can wake up!

I`ve never heard of such a thing.  Publsih what and why?  Seems fishy.

I don`t know if it is fishy, but after I spoke with him, I decided to do a little research.
This is what I found on the MyCorporation website:

SPECIAL NOTICE: New York requires that all newly filed LLCs publish notice of formation; therefore, MyCorporation fulfills this requirement at a fee of $299. PLEASE NOTE: County newspaper fees, ranging from $200-$1900, must be charged separately based on your registered agent county.

I am going to call them up, as I do not understand if on top of paying MyCorporation (for instance) the $299.00, I still need to pay the extra fee to have the formation of my LLC published on a newspaper.

Ok! I called MyCorporation and they confirmed that I need to publish the notice of formation of my LLC.
Because I am in Manhattan, the cost is the highest one - $1900.00!!! That`s absolutely insane!
