Hi SuN colleagues,

Although I`ve been a lurker around SuN for months, I`ve created a new profile and am now ready to be an active member. 

My company is called Terminatin Nation and in a mouthful, we provide affordable employee relations, workplace issue, and employment transition consulting for both individuals and organizations. All one-on-one consultation is completed confidentially over the phone or email. Organizational consulting can be completed virtually or on-site.  

 

Unfortunately, no one ever teaches us in school how to deal with workplace conflict and/or employment transitions.

How do you deal with a challenging boss? Or co-worker? Or subordinate? What are your rights when you feel you are underpaid, discriminated against, passed over for a promotion, or harassed? How do you prepare to resign from a company, fire an employee, implement a group layoff, or apply for a new job within the same company? How do you prepare to take a leave of absence, handle a disciplinary action, decide whether to consult your company`s HR department, or raise an issue to your management chain?

My passion has always been around helping people through times of workplace anxiety & stress. What I`ve learned over the years is that everyone`s situation is unique and usually a quick brainstorming session puts everything in a new light. 

I look forward to working with all of you. Especially since many of you are either moonlighters or "one foot out of the door" of corporate America.

Are you building a business offering this type of consulting to employees in what, large corporations?

Welcome to SUN like you I am also new and enjoy the postings. Looked at your site there is a need for sure.

I am also in the the human resource field or at was for over 25 years in corporate HR and staffing industry, so really see the need for your expertise so working my way back.

Hi there and thanks for the warm welcome! 

In reference to Craig`s question, for my corporate business, I assist leaders within companies plan and execute strategies which may impact their workforce.  For example, re-organizations, performance management, and employee relations strategies.  We also will be offering smaller scale outplacement services for organizations who may not want to offer the high-cost packages that companies such as Drake Beam Moren offer, which can easily cost $5K-$30K per employee.

For my business which focuses on the individual employee in the workforce, we offer confidential 1:1 workplace advice.  We are the resource to leverage when they do not feel comfortable in speaking to their management chain or local human resources when dealing with employee relations or employment transitions situations.

Andrew, your feedback is spot on.  My website is in version 1. One of my unpublished pages is a free advice and free article section, which should be published in less than a month.  You are correct in that this is an underserved market.  More often than not, strife in the workplace is kept as a "hidden secret" by most, largely due to embarrassment, fear, or privacy.

Also, thanks for the warm welcome drbob!  I also have a degree in I/O psychology.  I appreciate all referrals!

many of the large corporations offer a confidential helpline for such topics you are offering. How do you overcome that or are there many more companies that don`t offer that service to their staff? (and that`s where you come in).

Actually, a few of the large corporations offer a helpline, but most do not.  I currently work for a Fortune 50 company who was also listed as one of Fortune`s and Working Mothers` top companies to work for and we do not have a helpline.  We do have an Employee Assistance Program for medical and financial type of issues, but not workplace conflict or additional assistance in times of "right-sizing".  So, you later statement would be correct.
