It`s time for all site owners to stop thinking in terms of links, directories, and keywords but start to think more about original content that is updated regularly. The search engine companies are rewarding sites (such as blogs) that are regularly updated with original content. Sure you should use keywords and phrases and search out qualtiy links but put your money and time into content and the links and rankings will take care of themselves. As a side note, get a squidoo lens that links to your site, a blog that links to your site, and create a site map. Google will index in just a few days, after that keep writing (or hire someone to write) and you will find your site moving up quickly.
