Hello, as you can see my business is about pet care.   A couple of things I had questions on as I start hiring employees is how do I get a waiver and relase of liability form so that I don't get sued for dog bites, etc.?

If I hire someone to do trianing, should they be ceritified or does it even matter?  I'm new to this and would appericate any help you could give me.

Almost forgot I need someone to come up with a logo for my company, what is the best way to go about it.

Thank you.

i would make sure you have more than sufficient insurance (liability) coverage.  a waiver like you indicated is critical as well. i would consult a professional, preferably someone already in this field

I agree with the poster above about the insurance.

Regarding whether your trainer is certified is up to you. A certified trainer may be an advertising advantage - a selling point. But honestly the results will speak for themselves. People happy with how their dog behaves will be happy to give referrals. And that will likely matter more in the long run.

As for logos, there are plenty of ways. You could put up a competition at the high school or art school or graphic design section of a local community college. If you have more money try elance. Or just google logos.

Cheers!

Ditto on the liability insurance.  There's an association for everything so find one for dog trainers or vet assistants and ask in their discussion groups about how to protect yourself from employee dog bites.

On my website, I have a section called "Fake it til You Make It"  where you will find low cost logo desingners and all manner of other low cost ways to make yourself look more professional than you may actually be at this point.

Also check out "Promote It" for loads of free or almost free ideas on how to promote your new business.

I've spent a lot of time assembling some of the best free advice and resources, plus some of the best low-cost suppliers for new businesses.  Hope it can be of some help to you!

I don't consider that certified professional is compulsory for training pets. It is a game of tactics and skill. According to me, skilled person must be given elevated priority.
