Buying a franchise is a serious decision. Each franchise broker, like FranChoice, as an example, works with a pool of franchise systems who have agreed to pay them if they find franchise buyers that fit into their system. Although I have worked with brokers in the past, and will most likely in the future, this is good for the franchisor and the broker, but it isn`t always the best way for you to find a franchise. You will only get a limited offering of systems from a broker.
However, there are plenty of great sites out there, like Entrepreneur.com. They, for example, come out with an annual franchise 500 listing. This neutral ranking actually takes into consideration many of the issues that a potential franchisee might be concerned about, such as growth, openings, and support. This is a great place to begin!
