I am looking to add a blog to my site.  The site is developed using Joomla.  Has anyone included a Wordpress blog to a Joomla website?

Let me see if I can clarify what you are asking.

You have a Joomla site and a Wordpress Blog.  You want to display your blog entries on your Joomla site.

Or is it that you want a Wordpress-like blog component for your Joomla site?

Good question.  I was actually looking into both solutions that you mentioned.  I could not find a Wordpress-like blog component under the Joomla Extensions (I may have missed them)

The other option was to add a Wordpress Blog to my Joomla site.  With this option would you know what folder I would need to save Wordpress in?  Do I need to create a folder called Blog?  I am new to this, how would I create a link to the Wordpress blog?

You can add both if you like. Just upload wordpress to your server in a sub directory then add a link in your menu to your blog.

Or

You can change over to wordpress and have a CMS site and a blog.

If you need any help just PM me.

While Joomla is a CMS program it does present content like a blog. Unless theere is something that Wordpress does that Joomla does not... there is not need to use both.

Although as mentioned is is easy to use both too.

I've tried out the realms of Joomla and always ran away. I am so not technically inclined with it so Wordpress and I are the best of friends. Maybe consider switching to Wordpress entirely. They are quite easy to work with.

Some or i mean almost all wordpress bootcamp are tackling both platform and i guess the same thing goes on joomla. Now i think it will be all depend on your taste and strategies. For a beginner i prefer wordpress as it has really easy to navigate unlike joomla, you have to be a little more technical.

I haven't used Joomla before and don't have any idea about it. But i do use Wordpress. I thought Joomla is like a blog too like Wordpress. Hmmm... Does Joomla have include plugins too like wordpress does or is it just too technical that you need to learn some PHP to use it?
