I think you two are side stepping the real issue.  If I stand across the street from John Doe’s house with a sign that says “I’m going to be the daylights out of John Doe” I will in all likelihood be given a citation for disorderly conduct.  If I and five friends walk across the street and beat John Doe so bad he lapses into unconsciousness, we will be arrested for assault and battery.   We will then be put in jail.  And, it won’t have anything to do with my skin color.   We will be in jail because we caused physical injury to another.

True, but the severity of your punishment will have everything to do with the color of your skin.

You are claiming as fact a personal and unsubstantiated opinion.  I believe this was the  same point Nikole was making.

Patrick, you asked me before how I knew that you were white. Your response quoted above is how I know. You really need to do your research about the harsh and inequitable prison sentences handed down by racist judges against black defendents in this country. My claim is not unsubstantiated. It`s a fact. Look it up.

Do I have to be white because I don`t support your narrow point of view and opinions stated as fact.  It might supprise to learn that a lot of Black people do not support such narrow thinking.  They have also seen a change since Martin Luther King bravely walked the streets in the South as a free man.

Even though there were disagreements along the way, I`d like to thank everyone  who participated for their contributions to this thread. It`s definitely been interesting, to say the least.
