Over the past 4 months I`ve been ridiculed, at times, about the success that GoTruckStop.com has had with the search engines. There were times when some members scoffed at our success, or that I was simply blowing smoke, or that it was just an anomaly.

Well, I`m proud to announce that another member of the SuN family has already started having great success with the AppleCart Shopping/Cart/Data Base ... and the use of its .js files.  ... and search engines !

Hats off to Beth Downey, (ShowBoxer) and her e-commerce web site , Boxer Haus.com , http://boxerhaus.com and http://www.boxerhouse.com .

Doing some research today ... just using Google ... here`s what I found ...

Keywords :

  • boxer tile coasters - Results: 1,380,000  BoxerHaus Position: #3
  • boxer treat jar        - Results:    244,000  BoxerHaus Position: #4
  • boxer tile box          - Results: 2,050,000 BoxerHaus Position: #2

And these results have come about in less than 3 weeks of being active ...

Hats off to BoxerHaus.com !!

WOW just a few weeks in and already rollin`! Good job.

I do have a question though. Is the high rate really do to the applet you mentioned? Or is it because of the fact the you both have a niche market item?

I do have a question though. Is the high rate really do to the applet you mentioned? Or it it because of the fact the you both have a niche market item?

Here`s an answer to that ....

Google has already started indexing BoxerHaus.com`s items within the store

Seach term:

BH001tb

Just click the link ...

http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8 &rls=RNWE,RNWE:2004-32,RNWE:en&q=bh001tb

Even with items that are carried in other on-line stores, BoxerHaus has made great headway ...

Search Term:

DFLS33A

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&rls=RNWE%2CRN WE%3A2004-32%2CRNWE%3Aen&q=dfls33a

As far as GoTruckStop.com goes , despite the fact that we have shut the front page down, Google still loves to index us ...

I just found these two new search terms that are being searched by users of Google ...

Search Term:

big rig shifter knobs Results: 122,000 GoTruckStop Position: #1

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&rls=RNWE%2CRN WE%3A2004-32%2CRNWE%3Aen&q=big+rig+shifter+knobs

big rig steering wheels Results: 383,000 GoTruckStop Position: #9

http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8 &rls=RNWE,RNWE:2004-32,RNWE:en&q=big+rig+steering+wh eels

Thanks TJ!  I can`t express how excited I am about Google finally picking up my store items and just after less than 3 weeks of being opened!!  Yahoo picked my store up within the first week, MSN search picked Boxer Haus up the second week, and now finally Google, the search engine I was waiting for, is now indexing the store items!  I have to believe it is the Javascript as TJ mentions and my shopping cart and web designer both also agree with this.  No one seems to know why the search engines love the .js files but for some reason, it is obvious they do!

I think it is important to note that these rankings are being achieved without any manual indexing by myself or my web designer.  Matter of fact I was planning on giving my webmaster search terms next week that I would suggest registering.  Even though I am hitting without his registering any terms thus far, I still plan to go ahead and have him do that to ensure I hit high in the rankings for more generalized searches such as boxer dog gifts, boxer dog merchandise, etc.

I am just very pleased at how well things are going for my store with regards to the search engines so early from my start up date of July 23rd.  I had expected it would take at least 4 to 6 weeks or more for Google to start picking BoxerHaus.com up at the earliest so I am certainly pleasantly surprised!

By the way, TJ can correct me if I am wrong on this but the program for the .js files that BoxerHaus and GoTruckStop are using is a free program found on the net.  I believe TJ has the link if he would like to share it with everyone.

Beth, that script, even though it is "free-ware" ... along with other expertise and services ... will be the heart of a new venture that I will be heading up during the next year.

If you`ll recall, I`ve given folks a "heads-up" as to a possible new venture ... (besides going to Afghanistan, besides re-designing GoTruckStop.com`s html pages and updating the store layout) that will be part of several projects I`m involved with.

TJ,

Please excuse my ignorance, I have seen the term JavaScript before, but I am not sure what it exactly means.  If you could explain, so a layman can understand, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Bill

Here`s the best answer I can give ...

"A type of programming which can add interactivity and function to a web site. Some examples include drop down menus navigation button effects, interactive forms, slide shows, and pop open windows."

Also, try these links ...

TJG - I am curious what javascript (on boxerhouse.com) are you referring to?  Thanks.

The same JavaScript that is at GoTruckStop.com. The same .js file that allows the search engines to index our .cgi pages within the store more rapidly than other .php or .asp e-commerce solutions. (Silly goose !!)
