`House of Jerky` Supports Troops in Iraq with Food for Body and Spirit

Evansville, Indiana-based Company Teams with Soldiers` Angels

to Send Tasty Treats and Messages to Troops

Evansville , IN., Mar. 20, 2008 —Evansville`s newest House of Jerky location puts its mouth where its money is, announcing a new campaign - Jerky Up! For Our Troops - to send beef jerky to Indiana soldiers deployed overseas in the Middle East war zone. House of Jerky pledges to match all customer in-store jerky donations for shipment to the Redhawks, the men and women from the Indiana National Guard`s 163rd Field Artillery serving in XXXXXX, Iraq.

The campaign, a dual effort with Soldiers` Angels, a non-profit organization supporting American military personnel deployed world-wide, arose from the soldiers` personal requests. "It is a great idea to send jerky to a soldier, not only because of the nutritional quality, benefits and convenience, but also because we hear from many soldiers that jerky is what they like to receive most," says House of Jerky owner, Ronald Hargett.

In one such letter to House of Jerky, American soldier Christopher McLamb wrote, "I would just like to thank you for the Soldiers` Angels gift package you sent to our small unit in Kuwait. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your warm-hearted gift and your support."

For as little as $4.99 for a 2-oz. package of jerky, customers can show their appreciation and support for the soldiers.   As soon as there are enough donations to ship overseas, (HOW  MUCH IN POUNDS?) the jerky is packaged and shipped to the 163rd, according to Janie Honeycutt, director of sales and marketing for HouseofJerky.com.

So far, House of jerky has made XXXX shipments totaling XXXXXX pounds/packages to the troops. "We thank the Redhawks for the work they perform every day for our military members and their families," Honeycutt says, "and hope our efforts will help them get through their deployment.”

House of Jerky invites the public to fill out cards and letters of encouragement provided at the store for forwarding to the troops along with the jerky donations. “We pay all shipping costs; it’s so little to do for those that are giving so much on our behalf," Hargett

says, adding that email messages are welcome too. "With the community`s support, the House of Jerky can continue to make a difference in the lives of service members and their families. We will continue to support them until they all come home.”

To give the gift of jerky to a local soldier stationed in Iraq, visit or call the House of Jerky at: 3848 North First Avenue, Evansville, IN Zip Code, 888 4AJERKY, (888-425-3759), info@houseofjerky.net

Founded online in 2000, House of Jerky (http://www.HouseofJerky.com) specializes in delicious, all-natural jerky. House of Jerky provides customers across the country with a variety of jerky products, including beef, buffalo, venison, ostrich and turkey jerky. Thanks pres!  Actually, I was going to have another release for national  because we have a 4th of July campaign on our website.
I see you questioned how much in pounds, but I don` know.  We made a tall acrylic box with a lock on it where they can drop in a pound, a 1/2 pound.. whatever and we drop in the same.  So how ever much it takes to fill up the box.  All I`m waiting for is to make up a sign, (which I`m not an artist) for the store, then I`m going to go to our local paper.

No problem - for the troops.

Please ignore those XXXXXXs in front of Iraq in the first paragraph.

When you send out the national, try to include on it a photo of a short store employee dropping some jerky into the box. Provided it is a tall box! A good photo op.

If you can`t figure out how much in pounds, find out how many packages the box holds.

Lemme see the local release before you send it out; email it to me.
