Is StartupNation a real community or just self promoters pitching their services?

I've been around the forums for some time, mostly lurking and every now and then contributing.  Lately it seems to me that the majority of topics started aren't real discussions at all but just platforms for self promotion.

I think this is a real shame.

My own business actually grew out of interactions within an online forum.   Sadly, the host of that forum stopped caring about the quality of posts long ago and it is now over-run by spammers.

I hope that StartupNation doesn't go that route as well.

I find twitter to be a very useful tool for connecting with busy friends and like-minded people.

as long as they offer linking, the self promoters will follow. Every site I join that seems like a good idea, quickly becomes a haven for spammers and affiliate newbs.

It's my impression also Casi as far as I've seen, as I'm new so it's hard to say if it was better before.

Regarding that, do you people use the "report" button, is it taken into account by the admins?
