Say my idea passed the initial stage of "reviewing".  The next stage is getting invited to present your idea to the investor's.

Do they normally pay for the travels...etc, or is it normally always on us to pay ?

Thanks!

digi33,

While there may be an exception - I don't know of any angel group or Venture Firm that will pay for your travel. We advise our clients to include that in their planning and budgeting for the cost of acquiring the capital.

Hey digi33,

I put this together for a different forum post and thought you might be interested in it since it sounds like you're at this stage in your startup:

Good luck!

robertj, if you have any feedback on the resources I chose, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Sounds strange, but you might want to watch a few episodes of Shark Tank.  Ordinary people trying to get funding for their businesses get to meet with a panel of real investors.  You can get a lot of good ideas on what an investor is looking for in a presentation from the show.  As well as what are deal killers.

My short answer to your question is NO. In my case, even after my case was selected, I still had to pay a small fee to present my idea in front of some potential investors.
