By international patent - I`m bundling a patent for UK, a patent for China, etc etc etc -  the US government thinks they exist http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/pac/dapp/pctlegaladminmain. html

Patents are not bundled.  There is no other way to say this.  It may be clear to you what you mean, but it is not clear to me and probably most others that may be interested in actually learning something.  Good luck with that bundled patent.

Like Clinton said, it depends on what the definition of "international" is.

We agree.  The word that I use, and that lawyers in this area use, is "national" or maybe "foreign national" to refer to non-US national phase.  You may be aware that "international" prosecution is broken up into an internation phase and one or more national phases that result in [hopefully] one or more national patents.  I am willing to bet that most others in this group are not aware of that.

Darn it! I was really hoping to find something good here on this topic ...

If we are happy and content to patent and do business in America only, and we are willing to allow our product do whatever anyone else wants internationally, just by not doing anything to protect it, can this hurt us in the one market we want to own?

patent law is "territorial" in that each country is protected individually.  There are a few treaties outside of this.  US patent law does prevent importation from foreign countries.

Thank you for confirming ... it just seems kind of weird to walk away from the world, but it saves us capital at a vital time and we`re scrambling just doing what we got here ... Thank you again! chris.
