Chris Jankulovski, CEO of Think Innovations and Remote Staff, has always possessed an entrepreneurial personality as well as a unique outlook and prospective toward life which has driven him to rapid success in both his business and his personal life. Chris’s success was born from an unusual personal circumstance, which ultimately changed his view on life, in his case for the better, due solely to Chris deciding to empower himself, take life on and win! In 2005 Chris was diagnosed with a hereditary health condition, which required major surgery to remove a 5.5 cm brain tumour. Not only did Chris choose life, he confronted living without wasting any more of the opportunities he took for granted previously. Just as Lance Armstrong had over come cancer to be one of the greatest athletes this world has known, so too did Chris choose to overcome his adversity by not allowing his health condition become a disempowering moment in his life. Chris wanted to win!

During this testing period of time, Chris was forced to face his own mortality on a number of occasions resulting in a new prospective on life. This life changing experience that transformed his view of living was a realisation that if he didn’t choose to pursue his life’s ambitions, then he may not be given another opportunity to do so, and time may pass him by. Chris discovered the urgency of life, of living. Confronted by his mortality he learned that we really only get one chance at it and in the whole scheme of things, life can be over as quickly as it began. What may seem like a lifetime is actually not long enough, especially when you have a deep desire to accomplish so much.

While most post operative patients would be re-cooperating at home trying to recover, not long after being discharged from hospital, Chris decided to run in the Sydney to Surf 14 km Fun Run! As crazy as this seemed, which was the general consensus and opinion of everyone who knew Chris, including his doctors who advised against running, Chris stayed focused and determine to make it happen.

Previous to his illness, Chris had participated in the Sydney to Surf fun run hoping to complete it in 60 minutes, but actually finishing in his personal best time of 65 minutes. So, three weeks after having a large tumour removed from his brain, not having the ability to turn his head from side to side, with high blood pressure, no lead up training in any way shape or form and against the opinion of everyone, unbelievably Chris ran and finished the Sydney to Surf. What made this an even more extraordinary achievement was the fact that Chris completed the Sydney to Surf in the incredible time of 58 mins! That’s right 58 minutes! Seven minutes less than his previous personal best time, which was achieved under far more favourable circumstances. People were absolutely flabbergasted by his achievement. The local Sydney news media had gotten wind of his amazing accomplishment and interviewed him. During the interview he was asked, “How it was possible to achieve such a feat so soon after major surgery?” Chris replied, “it’s shocking as to how much we limit ourselves before we even start or begin anything”.

After such a physically draining and mentally challenging year, Chris decided to get away and take some time out, to reflect on his second lease on life and go through a healing process. Chris said, “I spent the next year travelling through South East Asia from countries such as India, Vietnam, China, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines and Europe. It was during this sabbatical, I discovered that I was trying to save myself, but what was I trying to save my self from? The inevitable? We are all going to pass away one day.” The journey helped Chris come to terms with his own mortality and he gained a new sense of peace in life that he had never felt before.

After this newfound philosophy that Chris had instilled in himself from the experiences of the past two years, Chris decided to transfer these personal ideologies into business. “When I was in the Philippines, I hired an assistant and a Web designer for a job and was blown away by the quality of their work and the cost of their hire. After returning back to Australia, I needed to hire another assistant and web designer and was consistently reminded of my staff in the Philippines and how it would be so much more cost effective to contract these guys as opposed to Australian staff as the end result was the same in terms of work outputs, however the cost effectiveness of my Philippines staff was at a fraction of the price compared to my Australian Labour expenses. I searched for companies to hire quality cost effective staff from abroad for full-time and part-time positions and had difficulties finding permanent staff, as most outsourced companies provided only project-based freelancers without the possibility of long-term sustainable hire. As a result I came to the conclusion that the whole economy of outsourcing is limiting itself by thinking you can only hire using project based staff, when in actual fact you can find people to work from abroad that your business can totally depend and rely on over the long term. This inspired me to create Remote Staff in late 2007 as a reliable alternative in the staffing solutions”.

In it’s first year of operations Remote Staff was turning over $1,000,000 of revenue all whilst Chris was working from his lap top computer from location in South East Asia, Europe and USA. The uniqueness which makes this business so much more of an accomplishment is the fact that Chris has no fixed address, works from remote locations anywhere so long as the location has fast reliable internet connection speeds and has successfully built a business following an unusual formula which proves that people can be hired from abroad, be reliable and dependable for your business needs and could help you achieve your company goals all whilst saving money. Even more amazing is the fact that everyone employed by Remote Staff from the CEO, to the 35 full-time in house staff as well as all the contractors hired out to clients all work as home based professionals without a common fixed office environment, further proving that the Remote Staffing formula can work for your business.

Once Remote Staff became a proven business model, Chris’s next mission was to set his mind to increasing the growth of Remote Staff. It was during the annual end of year meeting in Dec of 2009 that a new business goal was set, to grow Remote Staff from having one hundred staff to 1000 staff by the end of 2012. With his unrelenting dedication to business and an inner drive to succeed, the rapid growth of Remote Staff has been no surprise for people who know Chris. Today his company is well on the way of achieving its target objectives.

In addition to achieving his staffing goal, Chris has an uncanny knack of developing systems and procedures that work for everyone involved with Remote Staff. He has the ability to systemise situations from a relationship perspective, develop online systems that work, has great knowledge of Internet and online marketing, all of which has resulted in a very powerful business model that has become Remote Staff.

Chris is directly responsible for affecting hundreds of peoples lives from his clients whose businesses are strengthening and growing, to his staff and contractors who are benefiting from the opportunities that come with a secure home based professional career. Everyone professionally involved with Chris has experienced the positive benefits of his business acumen.

For all who have dealt with Chris, the most common thread that unites their opinion of him is their description of Chris’s unique ability to communicate with people from all walks of life. Chris is a people person in every sense of the word. He always finds the time for people no matter what their issue may be. His words of advice are sincere and insightful, especially regarding ways to improve or better themselves professionally. His ability to find the words to help best understand and gain perspective of his philosophies and messages is astonishing.

Chris’s leadership and drive inspires his staff to want to achieve the goals that he has set for Remote Staff and them. They relish the responsibilities given to them by Chris and enjoy the experience of the opportunities that arise from working at Remote Staff as a home based professional. The fact that the staff can work from home on full-time basis for a secure and successful company is an opportunity which does not present itself very often, hence the reason Chris’s staff strive to make Remote Staff a sustainable long lasting career. Their positive and dedicated working philosophy has assisted in Remote Staff’s rapid growth and success and accolades should be given to everyone involved in Remote Staff from Chris, to all his in house staff, as well as his hundreds of contractors who have all contributed to creating one of the worlds leading virtual organisations.

All these amazing personal and business achievements have been reached whilst travelling around the world with his wife and his newborn son Baby Jay. At this rate, Chris is on target to achieving his goal of remote living, remote working and building a global leading remote business. Chris finishes by saying, “I must admit, I love working hard, but what I love just as much is when I finish work I can shut down my lap top exit my office and I could be walking in the streets of London, Paris, NYC or alternatively swimming off the coast of Koh Samui or Boracay. I travel to different locations in the world at 6week intervals and the only thing that governs my freedom is the reliability and speed of Internet connections. If that’s the only worry I have in the world, then I have to say that I lead a very blessed and privileged life!”
