Hi folks,

I was google`ing for some info on a group of franchises.
I having trouble finding anything more than more sites selling the franchises or sites on the franchises themselves.

Any tips on finding financial reports or success stories or otherwise?

I do not want to contact one of the franchisers as i don`t want a sales person hounding me.

any tips?

Hello OADesign!  Have you looked at Entrepeneur.com?

http://www.entrepreneur.com/businessideas/index.html

They have a whole section devoted to all things "Franchise".  Might be worth a look

OADesign,

I strongly suggest you check out Sunbelt Business Brokers.  They have offices all over the country and their goal is to help you find your dream business, find financing, get started and continued support in your new career as an entrepreneur.  I have done work with the Minneapolis office that also covers Chicago and Milwaukee.  I know that they are having their Fall Buyers Sellers Seminar in October.  Let me know if you want me to put you in contact.

Best,

Jennifer

The best source for info is existing franchisee owners. Make sure you ask them tons of questions before making an investment.

Check out this link.  As a side note,  I remember reading the case of a  small business owner that bought an icecream franchise.  All went well until the franchisor came up with the idea that they should sell to supermarkets.  The franchisee stood helpless and powerless as he could not challenge what the franchisor has done to his small business (we all know what that was).

I have a question. Why a franchise? I have a membership company that has all the features of a franchise. I look at it like this my membership is performance bases without the down payment. My clients call me night and day to help them. Franchisors you can get a hold of.

This is why I am asking the question. I want my members to win. Right now I am create a press release for one of my client to help them.

If possible, attend a franchise trade show.  Also check out sbtv. Click on management.  The short videos on franchising are excellent.
