I have an old LLC I started back in 2006 on Legalzoom.com. I've made some money (this year) (gross) but no profit.

Also, ive not filed a priveledge tax return since my initial return in 06... My plan was to make money and THEN start paying it up.

I would like to now dissolve the LLC.

But I have read that you can be imprissoned for not paying priviledge tax for a business (the minimum for Alabama is $100/year)

Can I really be inprisoned for not pay the business's privledge tax?

What would happen if I just dissolved the llc and left it alone?

You'll probably just get a fine, if anything. I'd pay it up. It'll be a lot better for you if you discover your mistake and rectify it than if they discover your mistake and prosecute you for it.

If you rectify your mistake on your own, it would not cause any serious problems. The real problems start if the authorities come after you instead of you going to them.
