Hi,
I`ve just started a small business; it`s just my son and I for now. We provide various mechanical services for private individuals or businesses in a small community near Columbia, SC. I`m a retired Machinist Mate, submarines, and a U.S. Dept. of Labor certified, journeyman, Maintenance Mechanic and my son is an engineering major (for now
. ) The jobs are coming along well, word of mouth is keeping us busy. But, I`m finding my personal tools and equipment are insufficient. I need $5,000 - $10,000 for this to really take off. As a sole proprietorship finding investors or a bank to give a loan has proven difficult. Any help, advice, out there?

I can really use some help, please feel free to offer "ANY" advice. I`d rather go beyond the minimum requirements so I can step up to a LLC when the time is right. I`m on a non-existent/shoestring budget, getting a business loan at this point is proving difficult. I`m looking forward to hearing from anyone who`s been through this. Some of you have been a big help, please keep it up.
