Hi Brandon:
I recently had a book published about inkjet printing and photography, and there were about 25 photographers and other artists who contributed in some way, plus I mentioned at least 100 companies who make products that I use and that the contributing photographers use.
One of the best things to do is set up a press page your site and show the book`s cover, link to the book`s companion site if there is one, and possibly show the page where your company is mentioned.
Here is an example of how the owner of a company who makes custom mats and frames mentioned my book. He didn`t mention that he was mentioned in the book, but I sent him the PDF in case he wanted to.
You can also give away one of the books to your newsletter subscribers (if you have a newsletter). I wrote an article,
which you can find here, about my experiences in marketing a book, and I am learning more each day.
Also, Kristen, I like the idea of a "release template." Would you mind elaborating? I sent the main press release to any interested contributors to help them pitch stories.
Thanks!
Andrew
