one question: will there be "chores" for them at the bakery?

At an appropriate age I`m sure we`ll find jobs they can do.

I`ve heard of business owners who essentially paid for their children`s college with wages earned at the kid`s tax bracket by allowing them to work in the business. Besides the financial benefit, they need to learn the value of a dollar and a day`s work at an early age.

Expect it to take longer to get back then it does to drive to Florida (potty breaks and all).

We made it, and Antwan was absolutely right. More frequent stops and each one taking longer.

There was some pretty nasty weather both ways. We saw plenty of accidents but we were blessed with safety. Our new church where we moved in OH (actually we`re only visiting and haven`t even joined yet) gave us $350 in gas cards. I don`t know if they did the math or not but it worked out perfectly. They`re really good people.

These kids crack me up. A friend loaned us an in-car DVD systems which helped make the trip easier to bear. The kids are watching Ice Age and William, age 6, says, "I thought three-toed sloths were nocturnal." I don`t know about anyone else, but I really don`t think "nocturnal" was in my vocabulary at that age. I know a lot of adults who would be hard pressed to use it in a sentence. This is going to be quite an adventure, jumping into parenting with both feet.

I`ve got some big news. This past Saturday we picked up the youngest at the airport. We now have all four kids living together for the first time in almost three years. She was placed with us on a temporary basis, which we hope will become permanent after the next hearing later this month.

I guess I should back up a step. The magistrate ruled against us following the first hearing.  I didn`t have the heart to get on here and share the bad news. We`re now pursuing an appeal to the next highest court. We believe the events that led up to this past weekend strengthen our case significantly. I really needed a miracle. A lot of people were holding us up in prayer. Some I`ll probably never meet in this life. Nevertheless, I`m eternally grateful.
