If you could have an assistant, what would be the first thing you`d ask him/her to do?

Wow...I could only wish to have someone do what I spend a lot of time doing now.  Cold calling fabric & trim resources to see if they will do business with a startup.  I`m at the point where I think I might start pretending I am an established company but that`s just not my style.

I`m unavailable to answer this question right now, but will have my assistant get back to you within 24 hours.

Something, aything with all of my receipts!  They`re tucked neatly in envelopes by month - but now what?  Yikes.

Introduce him/herself to all of my customers.  Because that will be his/her priority.

I have been working "ON" my business not "IN" my business ever since I read E-myth Revisited and Mastery. I have been documenting everything I do to create “Business systems” and as soon as I’m done I will hire a virtual assistant or 2 to run my business. That way i can focus on expanding

I would probably have an assistant do all of the cold calling. This can save tons of time for me!

Well, I would have to say that having an assistant would indeed be a luxury, but I really would like to experience having one at some point.  However, as I dream of having an assistant, he/she would have to have computer skills, something that I am not proficient in, a great "people person" with a pleasant telephone voice, and an exhilarating personality.
Well, the dream is over and without an assistant, I must get back to work.

kim,

i do recall getting a call from your assistant recently - making sure your schedule was organized while you were away from the office. JEALOUS. maybe it`s time for me to get a Virtual Assistant...

First thing I`d do if I need to hire an assistant would be to ask them to do the posting of all the events that I post now for all my clients. As a virtual assistant, I post events an about 3 dozen websites several times a month for various clients. I have several clients that speak, host teleseminars or have other events happening and need them posted on various websites.

But I`m not busy enough yet to hire an assistant. I`m available for more work...hint.

Get in the kitchen and make some good coffee!

That`s enough to make me happy and productive the rest of the day.

Hello everyone, I love this post, it makes me feel kind of special and much appreciated indeed to those I currently work with. I am a `Virtual Assistant`. I absolutely love doing what I do. Coming from a 20 career in the corporate brick and mortar world, to starting my own virtual , company is a true treat. All of the things that I took care of sitting in the office next to the president  can now do from the comfort of my home. My clients can be anywhere in the world.

So for all of those that think they are not ready for an assistant, or can`t afford an assistant, think again.........go virtual!
