What about "Nature Trekkers"

I work with nature in Brazil!

My name is Rafael Torres Lopes and I live in the famous beach of Copacabana, in Rio de Janeiro, which is one of the most famous travel destination in the world. I have a large knowledge about my own State and also about my country. I am 34 years old and I have 5 years of experience in the tourism business not only in Brazil but in Argentina as well.

I am an independent tour guide, and believe me I put my heart in my work, I really love what I do, it is always a special moment being with so many different people, and show them the best of my land, making some dreams possible..this is the great joy of my profession. I always focus on the soul of Rio, when my guests choose Rio as a destination...I start to think where I personally like to go, where I personally like going when I want to have fun, what I like to eat, where I will find the people I want to be with, and the places where I simply meet with myself..these places should be quiet, unique, spectacular with lots of natural beauty.

I would like to find a way to contact people in the STATES who deals with tourism and travel business. I live in Rio de Janeiro, and you are more than welcome to ask anything about South America and specially Brazil!

I need independent and broadminded people to make my work better, I need real american travellers and make Brazil an easier and unique destination for great travellers like you. I am proud to tell you that most of my guests are americans, and all of them got back home with a sensation that they will return again. And I am very happy that everytime I make friends in a country that I DREAM ABOUT VISITING! USA has always been my major target. Not because it is very strategical because I feel that your people have an extreme interest in Brazil, the only thing missing is someone to help them in the places, in the language and also someone to give them confidence that they can explore many incredible things in a foreign country like Brazil.

Please be informed that I am a member of a travellers community called VirtualTourist.com, and this is the source where some people find me so I can be with them for whaterver they need in Rio, my webpage is:

It is a great way for you to get to know more about me and also think how I can be useful to you, or better, how you can be useful to me as I am really interested to establish a way of communication between american people and my tour services!

I am glad that now you have the chance to visit my pages at VT and also to have fun with the information I give, be sure, it is my true impressions and I want to give you all the details beforehand, the pictures are my real eyes, what you are seeing there is exactly what I saw in the very moment that I took the picture, it is very difficult for me to chose which picture I like most, because I simply give my passion when I do it. I love to be a tour guide, I love to meet friends, I love to deal with people and provide happiness to all of them. My work as a tour guide is much more than tourism, it is making dreams coming true, it is making the person see what is real in the local life of a place they chose to go, so every tour I make is a personal adventure and it is a practicing of diplomacy, something that I have always dreamt in my life! Actually you never work when you love what you do, so working becomes a pleasure!

All the best,

Rafael Torres Lopes

Thanks Rafael. I like that name suggestion! I`ve already named the website, but I have a future magazine in mind - which may or may not have the same name. I`ll keep it in mind.

You sound like an energetic guy! From your message I think you`re trying to find a way to attract American clients to you as an independent tour guide. I`m sure you`ve come to the right place. Somebody here probably has some advice for you. But I don`t know anything about tourism.

I don`t want to discourage you at all, but I think most people here tend to book tours with well-known companies that they know are credible. On something as important as a vacation to another country, they want to make sure they`re dealing with reputable tour guides. You sound very reputable. It might be a matter of getting your name in front of the right people. I would contact all the travel agents I can find and send out marketing materials (brochures, etc.)

This tape program come to mind: "The Brand Called You" by Peter Montoya. You can find it at www.nightingale.com.

Hope that`s helpful. I didn`t look if you posted a separate topic. If you haven`t you might want to ask for other peoples` help.
