I have no budget.  I`m doing all the work myself.  Most of my products won`t be available for sale until mid-March.  Other than that, can you give me some feedback.

Is it easy to find products?
Does the site look good?
Is the information helpful?
Do you like the Learning Center?

Any other comments are welcomed, too.

Your feedback is appreciated.  Thank you!

The site looks good, works well, and I get the idea right away. The two stumble points I ran into are 1) why would I want a mouse hand warmer, and 2) the block of content on the home page.

Studies and research show time and again that reading something on a computer monitor isn`t the same as reading it in a book. There has to be more contrast on a monitor, and more blank space to pinpoint where our eyes should go.

To that end, I`d like to see the introduction broken up from a single paragraph, to several small and short paragraphs. Make the text color black, not gray. It`ll be easier to read.

In the content, add something to explain who typically needs one of these. It`s not enough to say "for people with exposed hands." I generally use my computer indoors, and don`t have my hands outside.

But basically, the site is very nice. I like the images, the layout, the navigation, and the color scheme. You also have a BIG advantage with the PC Magazine testimonial and logo right there on that home page.

Thanks!  I appreciate the helpful feedback.  I have the content on the home page more for SEO purposes than anything else.  My site`s editor doesn`t give me too many options, but...... now with your feedback you got me to thinking of other ways to keep the content and add your suggestions.  I`ll make some changes and resend the edits soon.  I may not have time to do it for few days, but it will get done.  Your reply actually created images in my head, and my moto is always "if you can see it, you can do it!"

Can`t say thanks enough..... THANK YOU!

When someone creates content only for SEO purposes, then they should be fully expecting to sell the product only to machines.

SEO is helpful in terms of gaining visibility. But is that visibility only so other machines can read the content, or should PEOPLE be reading that content?

Do computers buy goods and services....or do people buy goods and services? :-)

I understand your point, and you are missing mine.  I believe content on a site should do both and be written for good SE visibility.  You misundertood my quick, candid remarks.  Please take a look at my changes based on your suggestions.  http://www.igmproducts.com

Good, I like the changes. What`s still missing, though, to my mind, is how does someone end up with cold hands? How do we have cold computer hands?

I`m only commenting based on my own experience. Obviously, people do have cold hands or you wouldn`t have a product. :-) But what I`m thinking is that a quick explanation would keep (retain) visitors who, like me, at first would say "this has nothing for me since I don`t have cold hands."

To expand a little, suppose you sell DVD players at the start of the introduction of technology. Most people see them, don`t have one, and most importantly, see no reason to even ask about them. They don`t relate the product to their own experience, so they walk on by.

But if they at least can get a sense of why the product exists, they`ll perhaps be a bit more curious and read a bit more. In that case, keeping them on the site, you might make a sale.

From an SEO perspective, my point is that you never want to say that you "only have the content for SEO." It`s just bad practice. All content should sell to people. All content should help move people around the site.

The trick to good search-engine marketing is that it`s taking place within the primary function of content for human reading. It shouldn`t be visible or apparent to human readers, yet should still be there.

For example, suppose your search phrase is going to be "quality computer mouse."

The problem is how to embed that phrase in content that both applies to mouse warmers, and also is interesting to read.

The solution might be: "Not everyone has cold hands, or gets cold hands when they`re using their computer. But for people who do want to keep their hands warm, our product is an excellent, high quality computer mouse." (Without the highlighting italics, of course.)

Very helpful.  I`ll sleep on it and make an introductory sentence to that affect.  It`s good to have an opinion from someone who is not so close to the project.  It`s consumed me.  Appreciate your help.  Anna

Fantastic site, but it lacks the explanation why should we buy a mouse hand warmer? What is it for? Is it really necessary to have one? But other than that, I`m giving you two thumbs up!
